Hospital Manager was an integrated, scalable, management-oriented family of information solutions for hospitals. Its central aim was to reduce the complexity of clinical data to support diagnosis and treatment and to increase the quality of patient care. Hospital Manager's open architecture allowed integration with the many pre-existing clinical systems used in the patient care process. It also integrated with hotel-related services systems, such as room telephones.
The scheduling of the diverse resources in a hospital was handled by the Resource Manager module. The Materials Manager coordinated the flow of all materials through the hospital, from ordering, with minimum stock levels, to ultimate use and disposal. Administrative accounting was the domain of the Accounting Manager, Personnel Manager and Top Manager. These modules had access to the central patient database and materials database and perform billing, payroll and the all important MIS functions.
