Digital DENTIST
The Digital Dentist was a solution for dentists who needed to make the transition to a computerized office. It was a complete system for managing and maintaining all aspects of a modern dental office. It took advantage of relational database technology and the NeXTStep interface to provide easy access to, and manipulation of, a wide variety of data. and maintenance of a digital patient chart. Making full use of object-oriented techniques, it was highly customizable to accommodate the specific needs of any clinic. Digital DENTIST included the following features:
- Scheduling—multi-doctor/caregiver scheduling system that was integrated with insurance benefits and offered flexible daily, weekly and monthly views, automatic generation of recall reminders
- Accounting—a module for reviewing, tracking and managing accounts payable, receivable, and payroll
- Analysis—daily, weekly, and monthly productivity reporting, including multiple custom
- practice analysis reports
- Treatment planning—treatment plans from clinical data entered at exam appointment with off-line analysis
- Prescriptions—on-line database of commonly used dental drugs, including interactions
- Insurance—ADA insurance codes and claims tracking; standard insurance statements; walk-out insurance forms and itemized statements; and electronic insurance submissions
- Security-encyption, time/data/signature stamping of patient records and support for a variety of data backup systems, such as tape and optical.
