ElectroWorX

ELECTROWORKS
ElectroWorX was a powerful OCR application for NEXTSTEP based on Xerox's ScanWorX application programming interface. Along with support for ten languages, ElectroWorX offers batch processing, templaiing, and mulcipagc TIFF support. EleccroWorX was able to be trained to recognize even "dirty" documents with multiple columns and typefaces as well as interspersed illustrations. ElectroWorX learns from each document it recognizes, enhancing its speed and accuracy as images are converted to text.

ElectroWorX offered many features that make it both powerful and simple to use. Its batch processing allowed you to store TIFF images after they're scanned so that recognition could be performed during off-peak hours. You could recognize all or a portion of each document. Templates can be created to apply text recognition again and again to a portion of a form or other document that required repetitive conversion. Text was saved automatically to ASCII, RTF, or XDOC.

ElectroWorX supported the HSD complete scanner produce family as well as the Fujitsu M3096G. ElectroWorX required a computer running NEXTSTEP Release 3 or later. Academic discounts were available.
