Morning Star PPP
Morning Star PPP products were designed to provide the customer with a reliable package that can be configured as either a client or server for wide-area TCP/IP communications. This meant that a single workstation running Morning Scar PPP could act as an IP terminal server or router to a number of remote users. The same system could simultaneously initiate a call to another location or network, routing IP packets to the remote destination.
PPP included the following security features:
- enables link-level peer authentication by PAP or CHAP
- filters packers and logs by protocol, source, destination, source routing and so on
- tunnels hidden network via TCP over die Internet;
- encrypts traffic between known-secure networks
- negotiates through security barriers such as SecureID
- returns appropriate ICMP Destination Unreachable codes.
