LoadEye System Load Monitor

LoadEye was a system load monitor for computers running NeXTStep. By displaying continuously updated histograms of system load information, LoadEye allowed users and system administrators to readily monitor changes in system load.

LoadEye displayed your computer's system load in a Load Monitor that you could place anywhere on your screen. By observing how your actions affect your computer's system load, you could learn to use your computer more efficiently and effectively. For the software developer, LoadEye provided an indication of how much load an application puts on a system. System administrators would benefit from the ability to observe changes in system load on multiple machines connected to a network. LoadEye contained on-line help and supported both Mach factor and UNIX system load average.

LoadEye 1.1 added an improved mechanism for monitoring the system load on multiple computers connected to a network. Benefits included operation over non-NetInfo networks and elimination of the requirement that LoadEye be installed on remote computers.

LoadEye was completely configurable and supported both Mach factor and UNIX system load average. System load information was displayed in the application icon when the application is hidden. A detailed description of how system loads were computed was available through NeXTStep Help.
