eXTRAPRINT Laser

eXTRAPRINT Laser gave users the ability to print to a number of Canon engine laser printers—including printers with the NX, UX and BX engines—which produce output at up to 600 dpi on paper sixes from manual to tabloid, depending on the printer model. For enhanced reproductions of grayscale images, eXTRAPRINT Laser incorporated special Floyd-Steinberg halftone screening algorithms. A special version of eXTRAPRINT Laser came bundled with the StepWriter series of printers from The Primer Works.

When used with Partner, the Maciniosh-to-NEXTSTEP networking solution from IPT, Inc., Macintosh users could also access eXTRAPRINT to obtain fast, PostScript Level 2 output. In addition to eXTRAP PRINT Laser, GS Corporation had developed drivers for a number of other output devices, including the Hewlett-Packard DeskJet/C/550C, HP LaserJet II/I1I/IV, Canon BubbleJet Al, Canon CLC 10, Seiko PhotoMaker and Shinko ColorStream.
