Dots was a generic printer driver that allowed you to connect non-PoscScript printers to NEXTSTEP computers. Dots used NEXTSTEP's Display PostScript to generate high-quality output. Serial, parallel, Ethernet and SCSI interfaces were supported. Dots supports ink-jet printers, non-PostScript laser printers, Canon CLC color laser copiers and dye diffusion thermal transfer printers like the Seiko PhotoMaker and Shinko CHC-S445. Printers connected with Dots were available throughout the network.
