Teknekron Information Bus
The Teknekron Information Bus (TIB) was used in distributed computing environments to collect, format and distribute data to a broad base of heterogeneous applications. A standard-bearer in the middleware generation of computing tools, the TIB platform provided a proven methodology for building distributed systems and rightsizing existing systems.
Based on international standards, the TIB software bus was an open, scalable platform supporting the integration of new and legacy applications. By hiding the complexities of distributed systems, the TIB platform enabled the development of applications that were independent of both information source and hardware platform, thereby increasing productivity and reducing costs.
In the financial services industry, the TIB platform not only supported a wide variety of front office trading applications, but also serves as a software backbone for middle- and back-office activities. In manufacturing, the TIB was used in CIM as the basis for enterprise-wide information integration.
By combining Teknekron's TIB event-driven object framework with NeXTStep, developers could quickly build and easily maintain distributed, object-oriented enterprise applications.
