VisChem
Molecule Studio
The VisChem Molecule Studio application was used to create
3D photorealistic molecule models based on the space
coordinates of individual atoms either ball or stick models
could be created.
The model was created simply by listing atom coordinates.
Bonds between atoms were calculated automatically. You
could even highlight a bond by choosing a special color.
The model could he rotated in real time with mouse
dragging.
The process of creating an image was comparable to the
photographic process: choose distance and field-of-view and
set the light source to achieve the desired look for your
model. The results are displayed immediately. The last step
of the process was the rendering procedure, which is
comparable to developing a photograph. The sophisticated
lighting model would give you pictures that were better
than photographs.
