Bessie
Developed at Skidmore College,
Bessie, was an interactive tutorial for teaching Frequency
Modulation (FM) music synthesis. The tutorial explained FM,
and provided a historical background. Students also used
Bessie to experiment with FM synthesis.
With NeXT's Music Kit and Interface Builder, instructors
could create interactive applications and courseware for
computer music and signal processing courses.
