IDB Object Database
A high-performance database for arbitrarily complex data, IDB Object Database let you program object behavior in C and define object classes using the interactive schema designer. It supported multiple inheritance, polymorphism, dynamic binding, transactions, exceptions, versioning, dynamic linking, and heterogeneous networks. IDB Object Database included an interactive browser. Applications are portable and data could be shared across heterogeneous networks of all supported platforms.
There was a description of the IDB Introductory Package, available on NEXTSTEP. It was a detailed examination of an IDB application for developers who wanted to investigate object database technology.
